Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), a Javiva Adventures representative and your professional safari guide will welcome you. After a short briefing, begin your journey north through scenic landscapes, including the lush pineapple plantations near Thika. Stop briefly at the equator for a photo opportunity and demonstration, then continue to Samburu National Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch and check-in at your lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive. Samburu is home to the unique “Samburu Special Five”: the Beisa oryx, Reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk, Somali ostrich, and Grevy’s zebra. You may also spot lions, leopards, and elephants before returning to your lodge by sunset.

Start your day with an early morning game drive, an ideal time to spot active wildlife before the sun rises high. After breakfast back at the lodge, enjoy some downtime or take a dip in the pool. Later in the afternoon, head out for another thrilling game drive. Look for species like baboons, warthogs, antelope, and a variety of birdlife—over 350 bird species have been recorded in this reserve.

After breakfast, check out and drive toward Lake Nakuru National Park. En route, pause at the scenic Thomson’s Falls near Nyahururu for photos. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in this birdwatcher’s paradise. The lake’s pink shores are famous for their flamingo populations, and the park is one of Kenya’s best places to see endangered black and white rhinos. Big cats and elusive leopards also roam here.

After breakfast, depart for the world-renowned Maasai Mara. Drive past the scenic flower farms of Naivasha before entering the Mara’s sweeping savannahs. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in. Later, head out on your first game drive in this iconic reserve, known for its rolling plains, the Mara and Talek rivers, and abundant wildlife. Spot lions, elephants, zebras, and more on your sunset safari before returning for dinner.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing in one of Africa’s most celebrated reserves. Explore different parts of the park in search of the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—as well as giraffes, wildebeest, jackals, and countless bird species. The Mara also offers spectacular photo opportunities with its golden sunsets and open grasslands.
Today includes a visit to a local Maasai village, where you’ll learn about the rich culture and traditions of the Maasai people.

After a relaxed breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi. En route, stop for lunch in Narok Town. You’ll arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, with a drop-off at your hotel or JKIA airport for your onward flight. Activities on this day depend on your flight schedule.
