The Serengeti is Tanzania's most famous park. Its name comes from the Maasai word for "endless plains", and its grasslands support the Great Migration of over a million wildebeest, along with zebras and gazelles.
The herds move in a circle all year, so with the right planning you can see them in almost any month, along with lions, leopards and cheetahs.
