Lamu Old Town is the oldest continually inhabited Swahili town in East Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are no cars: people get around on foot, by donkey or by dhow.
Life moves slowly here, between carved wooden doors, narrow stone lanes and long quiet beaches at nearby Shela.
