Mount Kenya rises to 5,199 m and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its highest peaks need technical climbing, but Point Lenana (4,985 m) can be reached by fit trekkers without climbing gear.
The trek passes through bamboo forest, moorland of giant lobelias and groundsels, and glacial valleys with tarns.
